Riverside Callao Medical Arts Welcomes New Physician to the Team

Callao, Va. (PRWEB) May 11, 2013

Riverside Callao Medical Arts near Tappahannock, Va. will welcome Lisa Jenkins Haynie, MD, to the practice this summer as it celebrates the career of service of Michael Chatterson, MD, who will retire this year, after 15 years of practice.

“I will keep working in medicine, but not as hard,” said Dr. Chatterson, who is heading to Canada to be closer to family. “I still love the job. Because people are all different, medicine is never boring. Doctors and nurses are fortunate to be lifelong learners.”

Dr. Chatterson started practicing medicine in 1974, working in Ontario before heading to Virginia 15 years ago.

“Medicine has changed greatly with the introduction of many great new drugs, out-patient surgeries, and the introduction of Ultrasound, CAT scanning and MRI’s over the last 40 years,” Dr. Chatterson said. “I most enjoy the challenge of diagnosing and treating people with medical and psychiatric problems. I still keep seeing and hearing new stories from people.”

Dr. Haynie will start at Callao Medical Arts on July 1 and, Dr. Chatterson added, she will make “an excellent addition as an experienced physician.”

Not only has Dr. Haynie practiced medicine in the Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula of Virginia for 14 years, but she was also born and raised in nearby Westmoreland County.

“I truly feel blessed,” Dr. Haynie said. “Not many people are given the opportunity to leave their community and return to a job that will not only sustain them, but also give back to the community where you were raised.”

Dr. Haynie is board certified in family medicine. She graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Montross and majored in biology at Spelman College in Atlanta.

Her father, Clarence Jenkins, fostered her love of biology as a science teacher. Her mother, Frances, an elementary school principal, inspired her to learn more.

Combined, they set an example, Dr. Haynie said, to want to give back to the community. Clarence volunteered for the Westmoreland County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Frances served on the Westmoreland County School Board after retiring from the local school system.

While in medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine in Georgia, Dr. Haynie was a National Health Service Corps Scholar.

Dr. Haynie completed her family medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School’s Ghent Family Practice and received the Isadore Marman Award, which is given to the outstanding family medicine resident in the graduating class.

Because Haynie was a National Health Service Corps Scholar, she committed to work in a medically underserved area. In September 1999, she joined Westmoreland Medical Center in Montross not only because it is one of 14 community health centers owned by Central Virginia Health Services, Inc., but also because she wanted to provide medical care to residents of her hometown.

“If it weren’t for my parents instilling that sense of pride in your hometown I don’t know if I would have come back,” she said.

In July 2004, she became the medical center’s site director, overseeing daily activities of the medical facility.

Dr. Haynie and her husband, P.J. Haynie, have three children and live on their family farm in Reedville where P.J. is a fifth generation grain farmer.

No matter where she treats patients, the goal is to keep people healthy, Dr. Haynie said. At Callao Medical Arts she will continue to focus on keeping patients healthy, informed and, hopefully, inspired to give back to the community.

Insurance Companies Quoting Multi-Car Discounts for 2015 Added to Insurer Database Online

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) February 20, 2015

Savings through some insurance companies can be achieved by motorists when more than one vehicle is insured in the U.S. The Quotes Pros company is now promoting insurance companies that are quoting multi-car discounts for 2015 through its refined search portal at http://quotespros.com/auto-insurance.html.

A broad list of the top nationwide companies that supply multi-vehicle discounts can now be explored using the QuotesPros.com portal for this year. The agencies that are showcased directly to researchers of insurance companies do provide optional coverage that can be priced separately.

“Saving money by insuring more than one vehicle is a new way for adults to reduce coverage expenses on a annual or monthly basis through qualified companies,” said one Quotes Pros company rep.

The agencies that are now categorized inside of the search portal offer selectable insurance coverage based on a zip code. Because theft statistics and city population are examined by most companies, this data can now be obtained partially through zip codes across the country.

“Our system removes the need to begin calling agencies offline to review rates plans or types of coverage,” the rep included.

The Quotes Pros company has made revisions to its provider list to help motorists explore new discounts for the remainder of the year. In addition to the auto coverage plans, health and life insurance costs from direct providers can now be explored easier through the tool at http://quotespros.com/life-insurance.html.

About QuotesPros.com

The QuotesPros.com company provides use of its portal to average American motorists who are reviewing lists of insurers on the web. The company helps car owners to explore policy types available as well as the prices attached to each plan. The QuotesPros.com company has completed its national expansion this year that allows further research for policies that are not related to auto coverage in the U.S.

A Spoonful of Spirituality and a Dash of Diligence

Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) January 26, 2015

The cookbook tucked away in the corner of a well-supplied kitchen contains a variety of choices to make the perfect meal. Life, as Edward Anderson knows, does not have such a guide.

In a world filled with choices that affect possibilities beyond our understanding, Anderson offers a glimmer of hope and guidance. “Recipes to Drive Your Life,” offers a detailed look at structured lessons learned by Anderson as a way to guide others on a path to success and happiness.

“In the book are recipes and tools to focus on the problems without attacking anyone involved, but instead working collaboratively to move forward and make progress,” said Anderson.

After spending 10 years with the Civil Engineer Corp of the Navy and 37 years with Procter and Gamble, Anderson wrote the book as a resource for his children and grandchildren. A sincere desire to share his message and help others led him to publish, “Recipes to Drive Your Life.”

“You get to use the recipes that you want and need at the time that you need them. Building your knowledge, skills, and capacity to succeed and be happy takes time and needs a good process that works for you,” said Anderson.

Atlanta Plastic Surgeon Dr. Brian Maloney Now Uses Juvederm Voluma

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 03, 2015

Thanks to Dr. Maloney’s new non-surgical chin implant, patients can balance their profile by augmenting a weak chin without the lengthy recovery time and the pain and risks associated with surgical chin implants.

Chin position carries with it significant attributes. A chin slightly short in length or a receding jaw can age a person, or make him or her appear weak and frail. A strong chin, associated with beautiful aesthetic standards, can make a strong and vibrant impression. By using Voluma® injections, Dr. Maloney can produce a positive result for those who want to enhance their chin area, without the permanence of surgery.

A national trainer for Allergan, the company that manufactures Botox Cosmetic®, Juvederm® and Latisse,® Dr. Maloney was one of the first physicians to be certified to use Juvederm Voluma®, the company’s newest hyaluronic acid filler. He was instrumental in developing the Voluma® injection protocol and travels extensively instructing other cosmetic doctors on injection techniques. Voluma® is FDA-approved to provide volume to the mid face and has proprietary properties that make it able to lift tissues more effectively while lasting up to two years.

The non-surgical chin implant has become a very popular, in demand procedure for its non-permanent approach, which enables a patient to try out a stronger chin before deciding if he or she desires a more permanent, surgical outcome. It also is an attractive procedure for those who don’t have the time or money available for chin implant surgery. Another advantage of the non-surgical chin implant is that the client has a total control of how much correction she/he wants by observing the procedure with a hand held mirror and giving his or her feedback to Dr. Maloney.

Dr. Maloney performs non-surgical chin implants with Voluma® injections in just one to two office visits. Generally, there is no bruising, and the patient can resume normal activities immediately.

According to Dr. Maloney, good candidates for this procedure include those who have mild to moderate loose skin in the chin or jowl areas, and those who are not good surgical candidates. Dr. Maloney uses his expertise and computer imaging during consultation to determine if this new, minimally invasive combination is the correct “fit” for his patients’ goals. For more information, or to book a consultation, please call The Maloney Center for Facial Plastic Surgery at 770.804.0007.

ABOUT THE MALONEY CENTER FOR FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY

He is a National Trainer for Allergan, makers of Botox Cosmetic®, Juvederm®, Latisse® and NEW, FDA-approved Juvederm Voluma XC®. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Midtown Jewelers Named Winner in The Knot Best of Weddings 2015

Reston, VA (PRWEB) February 04, 2015

Midtown Jewelers pleased to announce that they have been selected as a 2015 winner in The Knot Best of Weddings, an award representing the highest-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by real couples, their families and wedding guests on The Knot. In 2015, only two percent of the 250,000 local wedding professionals listed on TheKnot.com have received this distinguished accolade. The Knot Best of Weddings 2015 provides an annual by-couples, for-couples guide to the top wedding professionals across the country.

To determine the winners, The Knot assessed a sample of almost one million real reviews across the various vendor categories — venues, musicians, florists, photographers, jewelers, caterers and more — that a bride or groom would want in order to inspire, plan and pull off their own unique wedding.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be selected as a winner in The Knot’s Best of Weddings contest,” said Bobby Singh, Owner and Proprietor at Midtown Jewelers. “This honor really proves that providing clients an excellent experience with an excellent selection can really set you apart from the competition. It is very rewarding and humbling, when you think, out of all the fine jewelry providers in the Washington, D.C. area, Midtown Jewelers was the only one selected.”

The Knot has helped inspire and plan more than 25 million weddings. With a rich history of providing quality content and inspiration to couples, The Knot is making it easier for couples to connect with just the right wedding professional to create a wedding that is unique to them. More than eight out of 10 couples come to The Knot, and they can be connected to any of 250,000 local wedding professionals across the country. The Knot is marrying great technology with trusted content — and a little love — to make planning for the most important day of a person’s life easier and more enjoyable.

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) January 29, 2015

The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) announced today the founding sponsors of the Global Advisory Panel on the Future of Nursing (GAPFON). They are:

    Pfizer

    Johns Hopkins School of Nursing

National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)

GAPFON — a panel of international health and nurse leaders — was convened in March 2014 to establish a voice and vision for the future of nursing, with the overall goal of advancing global health. Key issues identified include the need for reform, advocacy, and innovations in leadership, policy, practice, education, and work environments.

“Pfizer is proud to be a founding sponsor of GAPFON,” said Pfizer External Medical Affairs Senior Director Paula DeCola, MSc, RN. “Amplifying the voice of the nursing profession is essential to advancing global health and as such, is consistent with Pfizer’s efforts to improve public health and patient outcomes around the world.”

Johns Hopkins School of Nursing Dean Patricia Davidson, PhD, MEd, RN, FAAN, said, “Today’s nurses are full partners and leaders in the health care process. They are the bridge between patients and the health care system, and this advisory panel is an extraordinary and timely collaboration to strategically advance nursing education, research, and policy in order to have greater impact on the quality of health care globally.”

NCSBN Chief Executive Officer Kathy Apple, MS, RN, FAAN, said, “NCSBN is honored to partner and collaborate with STTI in support of this important initiative to advance global health outcomes.”

The funding contributed by Pfizer, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and NCSBN supports meetings with government, education, and health care leaders from every global region to provide recommendations and develop strategies regarding GAPFON initiatives. The input received at these regional meetings will assist GAPFON in establishing interprofessional partnerships and collaborations, thereby strengthening nursing’s voice, vision, and role in advancing world health.

“We have never felt more deeply the need for a unified voice and vision for the future of nursing worldwide,” said STTI President Hester C. Klopper, PhD, MBA, RN, RM, FANSA. “Pfizer, Johns Hopkins, and NCSBN are providing GAPFON with support critical to move this initiative boldly into the future, which will ultimately improve global health.”

Upcoming GAPFON Regional Meetings

HD Cloud DIY Video Security Camera Package Released by Security By You

(PRWEB) January 21, 2015

Security By You has put together a simple-to-install and affordable HD Video Security Package. The package includes both indoor and outdoor IP wifi video cameras that can be installed in minutes. Unlike most video security systems on the market, this one provides HD quality, IR night vision, and doesn’t require a DVR that will need to be replaced every few years.

The indoor camera is the 2GIG CAM-HD100. It is a simple plug-in wifi IP security camera that can be installed in minutes. It can be set on a shelf, counter-top, or permanently mounted. This camera has night vision and can easily see in low light situations. It is a great camera to watch the baby, pet, or an elderly parent.

The other camera included is the Alarm.com ADC-V721W, which is their newest outdoor version. This weatherproof camera is usually permanently mounted on the outside of your home to view different areas such as the front porch, back yard, driveway, or pool. Either camera may be set up to record when motion is detected or viewed real-time from a PC or mobile device.

If a customer has one of the Security By You alarm packages, the two systems can be integrated to work together. For instance, when someone rings the doorbell, the customer will receive a text message along with an embedded video clip. Or when a pool gate, gun cabinet, or master bedroom closet door is opened, someone can see exactly what is happening and who is doing it. Another example of what someone can do with this Video Security Alarm package is if a car pulls into the driveway the security system can enable live viewing or send a video clip to a cell phone.

Spylink Video is the monthly video security service that can be purchased for these cameras by Security By You with No Contracts or hidden fees. It has a low cost of $ 14.95 per month and allows customers to connect up to 8 cameras without requiring a DVR or NVR. This saves the customer a lot of money in the long run. If someone wants more than 8 security cameras, there is an expansion that can be added to the monthly plan. This monthly service integrates easily with the security systems provided by Security By You and runs on the same mobile app. Security By You is offering these two cameras along with the first month of the Spylink Video service for $ 399.95 on their website and can be purchased here. For more questions visit http://www.securitybyyou.com or give one of their representatives a call at 855-729-9196.

China Wholesale Phone Manufacturers Caters to Higher Demand for 4G Cell Phones

Shenzhen, Guandong (PRWEB) January 22, 2015

The world of mobile data communication has been gearing up for 4G over the past few years now, all the early indicators suggest cellular download speeds of over 400mbps will be available in the not too distant future.

In order to access these networks customers would need to have a smart phone capable of supporting the new 4G bandwidths. As the popularity of 4G steadily grows, Chinese manufacturers are releasing phone models with 4G capabilities.

PR Manager at Chinavasion Ms. Rose Li said, “Chinavasion sells 4G Android phones starting from as little as $ 100 all the way up to $ 400 for state of the art devices, which can rival and even out shine many of the latest big brand phones.”

Ms Li. added, “When these are compared against established high street branded phones that typically retail at high prices there are significant savings to be made by purchasing from the manufacturers.”

Mobile wireless service providers spent millions when bidding for the 4G bandwidths and are heavily invested in the new technology. Rose Li says, “This has resulted in many providers becoming eager to recuperate those costs from the customers so they don’t always offer competitive deals for phones and services.”

Rose Li states that “Many customers can now acquire a 4G phone at lower prices and use this to their advantage when looking for and negotiating phone plans as they have a wider range of suppliers to choose from.”

There could also be other benefits of buying and owning a Chinese 4G phone. According to Chinavasion purchasing a 4G phone directly from China can have major benefits. Customers are not committed long-term contracts and thus will not face high early termination fees for changing providers. Moreover, Ms. Li says, “Customers who travel out of state or to another country can use a pay as you go SIM to avoid astronomical roaming fees that are often hidden in contracts.”

China wholesale company Chinavasion, sell Chinese manufactured phones and other electronics with a 12 month warranty on all products and can ship around the globe with express worldwide delivery.

TCPA Lawyers At Alonso Krangle LLP Launch Webpage To Inform Consumers About Their Rights Regarding Unsolicited Texts And Unwanted Robocalls

New York NY (PRWEB) February 02, 2015

The TCPA lawyers at Alonso Krangle LLP have launched a new “TCPA Robocall Lawsuits | TCPA Telemarketer Lawsuits” webpage to inform consumers about their rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Also created is a “TCPA Robocall Lawsuit And TCPA Robocall Class Action Lawsuit Questions & Answers And What You Can Do To Stop Harassing Phone Calls” page. This federal law restricts telemarketers’ use of automated telephone equipment to place artificial or prerecorded voice messages (robocalls) and send unsolicited text messages or faxes. Under the Act, consumers have the right to file a Telemarketer Robocall TCPA lawsuit against telemarketers that engage in conduct that violates the provisions of the law. If successful, plaintiffs may collect at least $ 500 in damages for each unsolicited call or text. However, damages rise to $ 1,500 per text or call if it can be proven that a telemarketer “willfully or knowingly” contacted a consumer after the individual notified the company of their desire to opt out. (transition.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/tcpa.pdf, FCC, October 8, 2014)

The TCPA forbids telemarketers from making robocalls via an automatic dialer or prerecorded message without the unambiguous consent of the recipient. The Act also requires telemarketers that engage in robocalling to provide an automated, interactive “opt-out” mechanism during each call so consumers can immediately tell the telemarketer to stop calling. These rules apply whether or not a phone number is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry, and they apply to both landline phones and cell phones. (transition.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/tcpa.pdf, FCC, October 8, 2014)

TCPA Robocall Lawsuits | TCPA Telemarketer Lawsuits

Court documents indicate that a number of TCPA class action lawsuits have recently resulted in large settlements for consumers.

In October 2014, a $ 32 million settlement was approved in U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, to resolve claims that Bank of America and other companies called or texted consumers on their mobile phones without their consent using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. (Case No. 5:11-CV-02390-EJD, 5:12-CV-04009-EJD., 2014 BL 242797)

In August 2014, Capital One and a number of other defendants agreed to pay $ 75 million to settle similar claims pending in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. (Case: 1:12-cv-10064)

In September 2014, AT&T struck $ 45 million settlement that resolved a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court, District of Montana, over alleged unsolicited calls made to individuals who purported not to be AT&T subscribers. (Case No. 1:13-cv-00050)

In October 2014, a class action lawsuit was filed against a New York law firm for making unsolicited text message calls to cellular telephones in an effort to offer legal services to financially vulnerable consumers. Complaint is pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. (Case 2:14-cv-06010)

Data Shows Edsby Deployment at Hillsborough County Among Most Successful Learning Management Systems in K-12

(PRWEB) January 29, 2015

For schools and districts, ed-tech downtime is an all-too-common reality that disrupts teaching and learning. But at Hillsborough County Public Schools, the eighth-largest district in the U.S., teachers and students enjoy near-constant uptime. Edsby, the district’s purpose-built learning management system (LMS) that connects students, teachers and parents using modern technologies, today released data revealing 99.98 percent uptime and significant utilization of the system in the first half of the 2014-15 academic year.

The results are a significant improvement from Hillsborough County’s previous system and stand in stark contrast to acknowledged struggles other LMSes have in staying online consistently. Data shows an average of 100,000 Hillsborough students, parents and teachers login to Edsby at least once a week. The Edsby Hillsborough system serves an average of 20 million requests every school day, with an independently measured response time averaging only 280 milliseconds. The amount of Edsby data served daily to Hillsborough users alone would create a stack of lesson plans and assignments as tall as a 43-floor building every day.

See Edsby at Hillsborough County by the numbers in this infographic.

“Based on sheer numbers and scale of the operation, Hillsborough County is one of the most significant enterprise software deployment successes in K-12,” said Steven Asbury, vice president of engineering at Edsby. “The district can manage a massive amount of information and has shown that the LMS contributes to parental involvement and academic achievement. Students, parents and teachers are very clearly using the system, unlike other programs which end up as shelfware.”

Hillsborough County has also seen a significant increase in student participation and online grading as teachers leverage the LMS’s social learning features to interact with students and input grades. Usage data shows that 47 percent of logins are from mobile platforms and that students are taking advantage of new BYOD policies by constantly using Edsby from their phones, iPods, tablets and laptops.
